Why I Love Dave: Reason #53
In case you missed last night's Late Show with David Letterman, the one John McCain bailed on because he had to rush back to DC to solve our economic crisis:
Seems McCain wasn't too busy for an interview with Katie Couric.

I saw this on the web, brilliant! I love the part with Kieth Oberman saying "How much trouble do I want to get into?"
Dave is the man. This is why smart folks tune into Dave and not Leno.
You know, McCain truly seems out of control. Dave was hilarious.
Oh that was rich. Wouldn't it be beautiful is Palin stepped in and debated for McCain against Obama?
I recorded this and have watched it twice. Dave was brilliant. I mean, when you can make Keith Olbermann look like your straight man as you ridicule McCain, you're on fire.
I'd read about this at the end of the day yesterday but seeing it is so much more enjoyable. Thanks Beth!
Ha! Letterman is a bulldog, isn't he? Love him!
Dave is the alpha and omega.
when dave goes off script he is the best -- and this was prime example. a friend of mine sent me the log of audience calls/mail to cbs.
believe it or not, it was mostly anti-dave, then again people who thought he was doing the right thing wouldnt call in
I missed it, so glad you posted this, Bethy. Hilarious and poignant, especially about McCain not sending Palin in. Yet another affirmation he doesn't trust her any more than we do.
Another Dave fan weighing in here. I've heard so many people complain about Dave in recent years, well, phooey to all of them. Dave is still crabbier, funnier, sharper and more informed than Leno will ever be. Gratefully, he decided a long time ago not to pander to the lowest common denominator.
See what happens to those who sit down with KKKKatie? Serves him right.
