My Moment in the Big Wicked Moon
So here I am, hosting the first annual Big Wicked Online Pageant — and I can’t find a Halloween photo from my youth. ‘Tis a sad thing, as Halloween was just about my favorite day of the year. I got to dress up, run around the neighborhood with Holly and Renae, and bag tons o’ candy. I usually went as a gypsy, with lots and lots of baubles accenting brightly colored skirts. (Come to think of it, I still dress like a gypsy two days out of five.)
But I’m not going to let something like poorly archived family photos keep me from playing — so here I am in a rather creative costume, circa 1990:
That’s me: the opening credits to the Twilight Zone. Fun costume, but I ended up being a literal wallflower since I always had to stay within extension-cord distance of a wall socket.

Très creative, bravo!
You've always been the signpost up ahead for me Beth. I have no idea what that means. Excellent costume and expression.
One of my friends went a George H W Bush's Thousand Points of Light one year. He had the same problem.
I'm putting my entry up now.
What a great costume, especially love the look on your face, bet your facial muscles got kind of tired though.
That's such a great idea! You look so much like Andrea Martin in this photo - is there an Edith Prickly costume in your future?
Joyce Dewitt! (Funny costume idea!)
You know I love the Zone. That's a great costume.
I love it! Think of what you could do now with all the advances that have been made in LED and battery technology.
Those shoulder pads are pretty scary. Did you have to kill Linda Dano to get those? (zing!)
Well done. However, like the actual Twilight Zone, I would have seen a few minutes of you, liked you, but for some reason, never saw you again.
So, my love life is a lot like the Twilight Zone.
Original costumes are always the best!
Sweet costume, but you should have sprung for the battery pak. Then you could have killed on the dance floor.
Oh I looove this costume Beth! So original :O) I dug and dug through photos, but could find nothing to post. ah well, it's enjoyable looking at everyone else's photos!!!!
Look at you! That reminds me of the year MathMan used his madd Radio Shack skillz to go as a front door with a doorbell!
"You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension - a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both Atlanta and The South, of musings and mix tapes. You've just crossed over into the Beth Zone.
Very creative! One time I went as the floor of a movie theater, with pieces of popcorn, old candy boxes and soda cups glued onto a t-shirt.
Ok, I'm lying, I only thought of going as that. I was too lazy to make it to the party.
The costume is fun. The look on your face is funner (sic):^)
You should have caught 200 fire flies and hot glued them to your outfit instead.
Nah, probably not....
But very creative costume, I love it.
YOU ARE SO CUTE.
Such costumey talent!
